Oh Wonder is an English power duo comprised of Anthony Vander West and Josephine Vander West. They rose to fame back in 2015 with the release of their self-titled debut album. That album consisted of hit songs such as “Landslide,” “Lose It“, and “Without You.” Since the release of Oh Wonder, the musical duo has released 4 more albums and played sold out shows all over the globe, from Los Angeles, California to Paris, France. To celebrate 10 years of their debut album, Oh Wonder embarked on their Songs at the Piano North American Tour. For this particular endeavor, Oh Wonder performed across the United States and Canada, including a stop at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, which they played back when they debuted a decade ago.
The duo performed songs mostly from their first album, as well as a few hits from their other albums. In between songs, the two would share stories from throughout their career, creating a nostalgic feeling for both the performers and the audience. During the show, Oh Wonder also interacted with audience members throughout the show. For their song “Midnight Moon,” they chose two audience members to help with the performance. While the musical duo sat on the stage to sing, one audience member held a microphone while the other filmed them with a live camera. Earlier in the set, Josephine had planned to play her childhood violin during the song “White Blood,” but stated that she was too nervous to play in front of the audience. Fortunately, a concertgoer volunteered to play, stating that he was a professional violin player. Josephine and Anthony invited him onstage to show off his musical talent, and his performance blended perfectly with theirs. This created a unique and un unforgettable moment for everyone in the room.
