Interview by Katherine Cardinale
Rising artist BIZZY is back with her latest pop anthem, “Tuesday,” and it is a fresh, honest bop perfect for blasting in your car, in your room, and most importantly, with your friends. The song invites BIZZY’s audience into season two of Bizflix, which is BIZZY’s original video series where she shares new music with fans. The single also drops the same night of the first stop of Rachel Chinouriri’s highly anticipated North America tour, which BIZZY is supporting. We recently had the opportunity to ask this breakout pop star some questions about her inspirations, writing process, and more, and BIZZY’s responses are a strong testament to her commitment to her craft and connection to her fans.
LOUDSPEAKER COLLECTIVE: Hi BIZZY, thanks for taking the time to answer our questions today! First, if you could recommend any of your songs to a first-time listener, which one would you choose?
Oh that’s tough! As a first time listener, I would recommend “Don’t Tell The Girls” and “Just Yet” because they give both sides of the spectrum of my music!
LOUDSPEAKER COLLECTIVE: Your newest single, “Tuesday,” is so fun! What do you hope your fans feel or do when they listen to it?
BIZZY: Thank you!! I just want them to have fun with it! Feel confident and unbothered. Something they could strut down the street to.
LOUDSPEAKER COLLECTIVE: “Tuesday” introduces fans to the second season of Bizflix, which is such an original and creative way to share your music. Where did that idea come from?
BIZZY: Ahhh thank you!! That was actually created by me and my sister. I was talking about how no one consumes long form content anymore but I still wanted to have a visual aspect for my music, and she said, “What about episodes?” and then we kind of ran with that idea!
LOUDSPEAKER COLLECTIVE: Describe the vibe of “Tuesday” in three emojis.
BIZZY: 🕶☀️💅
LOUDSPEAKER COLLECTIVE: You’re about to go on tour with Rachel Chinouriri! What are you most excited about regarding this tour?
BIZZY: Oh my gosh, EVERYTHING!! I would have to say the live aspect of it. Really being able to bring to life my music and meet people at the shows. I just LOVE getting to chat with everyone.
LOUDSPEAKER COLLECTIVE: Do you have any pre-show rituals or tour bus must-haves?
BIZZY: Pre-show rituals I usually just warm up and then do a huddle with my band to get us hyped before the show!
LOUDSPEAKER COLLECTIVE: Your songwriting blends honesty, humor, and chaos in a unique and fresh way. Who are your biggest musical inspirations as of late?
BIZZY: Oh wow, thank you!! My biggest inspirations are Taylor Swift and Julia Michaels. They are truly just out of this world talented as everyone knows, and I just feel like I have learned so much from watching their careers unfold.
LOUDSPEAKER COLLECTIVE: Your songs are very honest and vulnerable. What’s been the hardest moment to write about so far and which song helped you heal the most?
BIZZY: Hmmm, that’s tough! I think “When It Ends” was the hardest one to write because instead of talking about a relationship or a situation, I was talking about myself and where I was in life, and it was tough to be brutally honest with myself.
LOUDSPEAKER COLLECTIVE: You were on the lineup for the first show I ever photographed and you were an amazing performer! What has been your favorite fan memory or live show so far?
BIZZY: OMG how COOL!!! Thank you so much! OMG, I literally love every show. My favorite one was probably my first hometown show when I got to open for FRENSHIP. It literally felt like my wedding, everyone I had ever known was there. It was just so special to play in front of everyone I love. I felt so supported.
Seeing BIZZY open for Rachel Chinouriri this spring is a must-do for any music enthusiast, and you can stream the new single “Tuesday” wherever you get your music now!
