Photo Gallery and Show Review: Alessi Rose in New York

Last week, up-and-coming indie pop star Alessi Rose headlined her first-ever shows in North America, playing two back-to-back, sold out nights at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right. Alessi is known for her infectious pop sound and confessional lyrics, which have entranced fans all over the world. She first got her start on Instagram and Youtube, releasing music under pseudonyms in order to preserve her identity. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she taught herself music production, which acted as a catalyst for the eventual release of her single, “say ur mine,” in mid 2023.

Alessi’s discography delves into personal themes based on her own life experiences. Her debut EP, rumination as ritual, is about her struggles with OCD, and her sophomore EP, for your validation, discusses the challenges that come with imposter syndrome and approval seeking. Alessi did a fantastic job at bringing her songs to life at her show, which was interactive, high-energy, and intimate all at once. She treated fans to live renditions of most of her discography, as well as a cover of Gwen Stefani’s “What You Waiting For?” and unreleased fan favorites like “stella” and “same mouth.” During the final song of the night, “pretty world,” fans held up colorful paper hearts to show support for Alessi and her art.

Alessi’s rise to global popularity has only just begun, with the 22-year-old musician having secured opening slots on both Dua Lipa and Tate McRae’s upcoming stadium and arena tours, respectively. She is definitely an incredible act to see!
