Irish–Scottish rock band Snow Patrol played a sold out night at Brooklyn Paramount this week as part of their The Forest is the Path Tour, which is their first North American concert tour since 2019.
The band currently consists of Gary Lightbody on lead vocals and guitar, Nathan Connolly on guitar and backing vocals, Johnny McDaid on piano, keyboard, guitar, and backing vocals, and Ash Soan on drums.
After Irish singer-songwriter Sorcha Richardson delivered a heartwarming and charismatic set, the lights dimmed and Snow Patrol’s intro video began to play, which caused the crowd to cheer from excitement. As soon as the band walked onstage, one could feel an immediate spike in energy ripple through the entire venue.
Throughout the evening, the band delivered a consistently emotional and powerful performance that encapsulated hits both old and new. This allowed them to demonstrate their musical growth and showcase their most recent releases, such as The Forest is the Path’s “The Beginning” but also feature songs that longtime fans would instantly recognize, like Eyes Open’s “Chasing Cars.” Each of the band members were able to connect with the audience, as well as each other, which highlighted their charisma and talent as a group, as well as their ability to make a venue such as the Brooklyn Paramount feel quite intimate. As someone who grew up listening to some of Snow Patrol’s biggest hits on the radio, getting to see them perform live for the very first time was an unforgettable and fulfilling experience!
Snow Patrol is wrapping up their North American Tour this week, but you can purchase tickets for any of their upcoming dates abroad here. They are definitely a band to see!
