British pop star Bishop Briggs played an electrifying set at Irving Plaza in New York City last night, and her high energy was absolutely infectious. Bishop is known for her anthemic, emotional songs that seamlessly blend the pop, electronic, and alternative genres. Playing a mix of both older hits such as “White Flag” and “CHAMPION” and newer songs off her recent album, Tell My Therapist I’m Fine, Bishop did a fantastic job of captivating her audience, who excitedly danced and sang all night long.
Perhaps the highlight of Bishop’s set were her incredible vocals, which echoed powerfully throughout the entire venue. Despite consistently dancing and moving across the entire stage during her entire show, Bishop hit every high note with precision, leaving the crowd in awe of her talent. Bishop’s spectacular stage presence paired with her down-to-earth presence and ability to talk to her fans in an earnest way exemplifies why she is such a star. Bishop spoke about her excitement to be in New York City, and mentioned that she had been looking forward to this particular show for weeks.
After finishing up her main set, Bishop closed the show out with her biggest hit to date, “River,” which is about a relationship on the verge of breaking in two. The live rendition of this song is its fullest version, and you could hear the percussion boom throughout the entire venue.
There are only three more stops left of Bishop’s “tell my therapist i’m fine” tour, and you can purchase tickets for those dates here!
